Pattern Information
This hat (and it’s soon to be released fingering weight cousin) features a stitch pattern that has been in my mind for quite a while but it took a lot of attempts to bring it into being on my needles (and on paper!). Not that any of the attempts were bad, but they weren’t what I wanted from it, so I continued to strive to perfect the image that I had in my mind.
Well here it is – Danny’s Hat is a quick knit, chunky hat featuring a beautifully constructed crown reminiscent of flower petals or maybe some might see gothic arches.
Materials, Gauge & Sizes
Sizes (to fit):
Child/Teen: 46-51cm (18-20inches)
Adult Small: 52-56cm (20-22inches)
Adult Large: 56-60cm (22-24inches)
Yarn Requirements: Chunky yarn. Pink and Grey samples pictured used Rico Essentials Mega Wool Chunky.
Child/Teen: 125m (137yds), Adult Small: 150m (164yds), Adult Large: 175m (191yds)
Yardage is given for a folded brim. If you are knitting a hat without the folded brim, it will require less yarn.

The horizontal gauge (22sts) is much more important than the row gauge.
Needles: circular needles or dpns sized to obtain gauge (samples used 6mm / US10)
All of my patterns are thoroughly tested before release – A huge thank you to my test knitters who help to make my ideas a reality!
